The Melor Desert is a dry, flat piece of land that is mostly made up of sandy soil and pure sunshine. Visibility stretches on for miles, and the tips of the Izo Mountains can be seen from almost any location in the desert. Other than a few scattered shrubs and the even rarer cacti, life is scarce during daytime hours when the sun is at its strongest. But the area truly thrives at night when the temperatures drop drastically. Then, you can spot lizards, rattlesnakes, jackrabbits, and even owls and scorpions.

No New Posts Tekla Dunes

The Tekla Dunes were formed by the active flow of wind that is usually present throughout the area. The sand is softer here than it is in the desert located just north of here, and feet sometimes sink an inch or two into the ground while walking. Plant life is nonexistent, and animal life comes close to this as well due to the lack of vegetation and moisture of the area. The wide-open landscape of the seemingly endless dunes can sometimes be overwhelming, but also can be viewed as simply beautiful.

No New Posts Rorfir Oasis

The Rorfir Oasis is the complete opposite of the two areas that lie to it's north. The area is rich with water, rocks, and life. Palm trees surround the mini paradise, shielding it from receiving the burning sunlight at full blast. The turquoise water that bubbles up from the ground rushes through rocks and boulders until it reaches the surface where it becomes home to many forms of life that aren't capable of surviving in the harsh desert conditions. These include tropical plants and various types of birds, amphibians, and reptiles.
